Inclusive Education: A Way to Rehabiliate the Children with Special Needs

Abstract

The word ‘Inclusive’ is used firstly in France. It is theoretically explained in 1990. In ancient, it is assumed that the children have been brought forth with disability and it happened for the sins of previous birth, so they have no right for living. They would be brutally killed somewhere or they would make float in deep water, even they would be killed by burning. But In the 18th century after the innovating of child-centric education, children play a central role in the education system. Inclusive education is defined as a learning environment that promotes the full personal, academic and professional development of all learners irrespective of race, class, color, gender, disability, sexual preference, learning styles, and language. After that, free and compulsory education is started for the 6-14 years children in article no 45 of the Indian constitution. ICDS was started in 1974, In 1986 Inclusive education was recommended in the National Policy of education, In 1992 RCI Act (Rehabilitation council of India Act) was adopted in parliament, In 2004, IEDSS( Inclusive Education of the Disabled in Secondary Education) was formulated and lastly, inclusive education is mentioned in RTE Act, 2009. Through this inclusive education, teachers try to rehabilitate disabled students. The children are provided with education equally in the classroom. The teacher teaches by modern multiple teaching methods and helps to grow the confidence among the students. School administrators should provide financial help, recruitment of well-trained teachers, making well infrastructure, etc. Parents should also take special care of them. Society should also pay special attention to them. Classmates also will help each other. The present study was based on a qualitative research method.
