The Impact of Tourism on the Economic and Social Development of Khor o Biabanak City

Abstract

Tourism has a high position in creating job opportunities for thousands of people as one of the most important service sectors. As an alternative economic activity in a single product economy, tourism can accelerate the development process by diversifying the national economy. This study is conducted to analyze the impact of tourism on the economic and social development of Khor o Biabanak. In terms of purpose, the present research is practical. It is descriptive-analytical-field in terms of nature and method of research. Government employees, people with active private experience and experience related to ecotourism, and shopkeepers in the city center and square with a bachelor's degree in the field of tourism in Khor o Biabanak are the statistical populations. The sampling method is the random method that collected the required information from a researcher-made questionnaire. SPSS26 and SmartPLS2 software were used to analyze the data. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) has been used to prove the hypotheses by factor analysis. There is a significant relationship between tourism and job creation and increase in Khor o Biabanak according to the results of testing the hypotheses. In addition, there is a significant relationship between tourism and income promotion in Khor o Biabanak. On the other hand, between tourism and increasing the amount of investment in Khor o Biabanak, there is a significant relationship. A significant relationship is also found between tourism and the promotion of living standards in Khor o Biabanak.
