A Survey Paper on Malware Detection methods

Abstract

Malware is a piece of software intended to infect, explore, steal or conduct virtually any behaviour an attacker wants. Malwares have evolved from singular function to its polymorphic variants because of which cybersecurity has become a challenging task. Traditional Malware detection techniques have become obsolete as it uses signature based classification of software’s as benign or malignant. This paper attempts to highlight various current malware detection techniques using the latest approach like AI, ML classification, Deep Learning, Autoencoders, IOT cloud environment, malware family affiliation using frequency of API calls, data augmentation and are evaluated on the basis of various parameter to get an optimal solution to the problem.
