Abstract
In India legally women are equal. But in practice, it is actually far from reality. Preventing women access to education, equal pay equal work, and many other affects grossly the human rights. The views of patriarchal mindset people considers that women have no role in dangerous jobs; hence, women should sit at home. Women abuses laws made for them and therefore they should be kept deprived of their rights. These kinds of thoughts are now taking centre stage and discussed. Nobody stops to think that women have a right to feed and support herself.
The present paper intends to emphasise on the need and impacts of ensuring gender equality in India through analysing the existing available literatures.
