Effect of Online Teaching on Offline Educators

Abstract

Many areas of working have been affected, due to the pandemic that the whole world is facing. One of the areas is education. The offline mode of teaching is shifted to online mode. Though there were teachers who were following the online mode from the beginning of their career, but main problem is faced by those teachers who have teaching offline, and had to shift from offline to online mode. Everybody is not well equipped and familiar with the online mode, and that is what, is causing unhappiness, low self-esteem and less job satisfaction among them. The present study is done to evaluate the difference between the teachers who have been working on online mode from the beginning and teachers who were initially working via offline mode, but had to shift to online mode, due to pandemic. For this study, three psychosocial variables are considered-happiness, self-esteem, and job satisfaction. After collection of the data, Independent Sample T-Test was used to examine the difference between the two groups. The results showed significant differences in all the variables between the two groups. The study throughs alight on the factors of unhappiness and dissatisfaction among teachers who had to shift from offline to online mode. The results could be helpful in imparting positive mental health among various Institutions.
