Solar System And Battery Monitoring For Smart Grid Applications Enabled With Dc-Dc Converter

Published 2021-08-10

Abstract

The constraints of fossil fuels and the need for an environmental friendly atmosphere have made experts to pay close attention to non-conventional energy sources. PV systems are regarded as an emerging renewable technology when compared to other renewable sources since they require minimal maintenance and are environmentally beneficial. The conversion efficiency of contemporary PV systems is quite low and hence to achieve optimal power and high tracking efficiency, an efficient control techniqueis necessary. Therefore a zeta converter along with a fuzzy controlled MPPT algorithm is exploited which provides improved power factor coefficient with reduced harmonics. The ripples in the resultant voltage are comparatively less than the other existing converters and hence the proposed zeta converter is suitable for efficient tracking. A grid connected 1ϕ VSI is deployed which generates an enhanced output AC voltage with a reduced THD. The proposed system is simulated and verified in MATLAB/SIMULINK and the generated outputs denote that the obtained THD is 0.37% and 1.18% for voltage and current respectively which is lesser than existing converters.
