Published 2021-07-30

Abstract

Gujarat is India's richest state. In this region, however, undernutrition is common. In Gujarat, 1,85,929 children are moderately underweight, 24889 are severely underweight, and 2,10,818 are classified as underweight. According to the current statistics, 5199 children are moderately underweight, 460 are severely underweight, and 5659 are underweight. The Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) is a unit of a district health institution that treats severely malnourished children using nutritional and therapeutic methods. This study examines the nutritional status of all children admitted to the Ahwa Civil Dang NRC between March 1 and April 30, 2018. The efficacy of NRCs in treating severe acute malnutrition has been shown by significant weight gain at discharge and during follow-up.
