Abstract

Human self is proficient to make decisions that help man in the process of healing. Surviving the trauma that hamper individual progress requires an extra energy from the part of the survivor. The contemporary literary scenario seeks to explore the unexplored areas of interest where diverse studies take place. Murakami’s writings mark a position in the post modern world in which human beings are captivated by emotions. In order to avoid the stress of humanity, man must indulge in various therapies to mould himself. Psychoanalysis is one of the best methods that help to ease out the individual’s pressure. It strengthens individual peace and harmony. The problems faced by modern man can be amicably solved by using psychoanalytic therapy. The study investigates how far psychoanalysis helps the characters of Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage to undergo purgation.
