Discussion of Issues and Initiatives Taken by Government to Promote Rural Health System

Abstract

In rural communities, the health care facilities are not in a well-developed state. In some cases, the rural individuals do not have access to these facilities and are required to travel to distance places or urban areas. With the advent of globalization and industrialization, there has been initiation of technical, scientific and innovative methods in the health care centres. Mental health problems are common and costly, yet many individuals with these problems either do not receive care or receive care that is inadequate. Gender and place of residence contribute to disparities in the use of mental health services. The rural individuals, earlier used to implement traditional methods in treating their illnesses, but in the present, they have also acquired appropriate information in terms of modern and innovative health care facilities, used to promote their well-being. The current paper seeks to pinpoint key challenges of rural health system and possible strategies taken by the state for overcoming them.
