Abstract

Women in the Postmodern Era Women novelists are as proud of their accomplishments. They are never unaware of their status as representatives of their gender and social class. They've all been fighting for their rights as "persons," not "possessions," in their different ways. It's no surprise that they've always been at odds with males, whether for good or bad reasons. As a result, as torchbearers for their gender and class, they have never been unaware of their growing authority. This empowerment, real or imagined, was founded on an emerging new morality/modernity that demanded absolute gender equality.
