A Comprehensive Review on Energy Efficient Routing Protocols in Wireless Sensor Network and QoS

Published 2021-06-26

Abstract

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is basically a network of sensing devices   collaborating   each   other   through   wireless   communication channels are constrained the limited power, low processing capability and memory. From the past two decades, several routing protocols have been developed by many researchers with preferences given to energy conserving techniques to maximize network lifespan.  Presently, the major goals of the routing protocols are conserving energy in sensor nodes assuring Quality of Service. The reliable transmission and timely delivery of the data packets with minimal energy consumption are the most favored qualities expected from users in WSN applications. In this work, we address the various Energy efficient and QoS based routing protocols highlighting their salient features, applications and limitations.
