Published 2021-09-01

Abstract

This paper aims to observe the nature of the representation of women in the Parliament of Inida. Even after seven decades of independence, women have been deprived to effectively participate in various occupations such as politics. The lower number of female representatives around the world draws our attention to the common problem that is faced by most of the developing countries. Women’s problems are better heard if they are represented by women. By looking at data of women’s representation in the LokSabha and RajyaSabha, this paper tries to find out the gender gap that exists in the country in terms of representation.
