Monitoring and Prediction using Machine Learning Traffic

Abstract

Nowadays traffic in cities became a big headache to control and monitor, traffic monitoring has become one the integral customes for transportation intelligence system. Transportation department are investing huge amount of data for investigating and analysing the traffic condition in the city to improve safety movement of vehicles.

Scheduling and planning of the movement of the vehicles is very difficult is real time. In vehicle moving system traffic congestion is a very big issue.  In this paper we propose a feature extraction, selection of the data gathered and try to avoid traffic congestion using machine learning algorithm. The authors and developer’s idea are by using this technique 70% of the traffic congestion can be reduced.
