Scandium Extraction With A Solution Of 5-Paraaminophenyl-1,3,4-Oxadiazole-2-Thion

Published 2021-08-19

Abstract

The separation of scandium from process waters using a 0.05 molar solution of 5-paraaminophenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2-thion in chloroform was studied. The optimal conditions are found: the nature of the solvent, the salt effect, the presence of inorganic salting agents, the participation of water, the optimal ratio metal:reagent, which is 1:2 with a volume ratio of the aqueous and organic phases of 10:1; the distribution coefficient is 0.90. 0.01-0.1 molar solutions of Y, Ce, Pr, Nd, Eu, Tb, Tm, and Yb ions do not interfere to scandium extraction.
